Learning   Aims

The students are expected:

1. have a better understanding of Audrey Hepburn and her achievements;

2. have a clear picture of the text framework;

3.interact with the text in ways that allow for thinking with text in order  to respond to , discover,organize , retrieve, and evaluate the  information and ideas they are reading about as well as exploring their personal responses to the text;

4.share their findings and thoughts in reading, e.g. Their understanding of  the title “ Hollywood’s  all---time  best ---------Audrey  Hepburn”.

Teaching Procedures

Step 1  Lead-in

1.Show a picture of  Holleywood before starting the class to make the students know it is famous for its films and superstars.

2.Show some pictures of superstars .  Encourage students to say something about the pictures.

(By free talk and prediction , the readers are attracted to the topic of the article and will be curious about their pre-questions, which help them set a goal for reading and focus on their thinking.  )

Step 2 Reading

1.First-reading: Encourage the students to read the article quickly and decide true or false.

1)Audrey had been a  writer  before she became an actress.

2) Audrey  met  Colette when she was in England.

3)Audrey Hepburn won the Oscar for the Best Actress.

( The students are expected to get the main ideas of the article by reading the text.)

2.Second -reading:Get the students read the article for the second time to finish Hepburn’s profile
